LUIS CONTESSA
Luis Contessa is a results-driven coach who brings a strong balance of high-level training and athlete-centered development to TEJAS Volleyball. With experience across elite club, collegiate club, and high school programs, he is known for elevating team performance and building competitive, disciplined athletes.
Luis began his coaching career at Miami University (Ohio), where he served as an Assistant Coach, responsible for setter and libero development while supporting team operations. He later led Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, to an impressive 40–6 record and runner-up finishes at both the conference and 7A district levels.
In addition to his high school success, Luis has coached 15s–17s national teams within USA Volleyball pathways, helping athletes compete at a high level. He currently serves as a National Head Coach at TEJAS Volleyball Club and is a clinician with Gold Medal Squared.
Luis emphasizes technical development, game IQ, and accountability, while creating a positive and competitive environment that prepares athletes for the next level.
